Financial Freedom Starts With A Regular Job

Apparently everyone is on the desperate side of the coin trying all they can to make ends meet. Young men and women are struggling, looking for multiple income streams just to ease themselves up with some financial freedom.

That’s actually not a bad idea, I mean who’s not going to like it if he sits at home while money works for him? This is not some fairytale story, what you hear and see people talk about is absolutely true. 

You can make a living online full time. But the problem most people face is how to start, where to start and how to do things the right way even with little to no experience. Now in this chapter, I will not sugarcoat anything to make you feel there’s hope or you’re on the right path. 

I’m going to be honest with you and let you know the truth about making money online while you sit at home. My name is Kingsley Abbey-Quaye, a finance educator and a Quora moderator with over 3,000 followers over the past 5 years. 

I teach people how they can be successful online, I create online presence for businesses, I build businesses for business owners who want to take over the online space. From all that experience gathered over the years, let me share with you the reason why being financially independent requires a regular 9-5 job.

First of all, there’s a saying that goes “money goes where money is”. This phrase is self explanatory, if you want to make money in any avenue, being it offline or online. The rules are the same, you need money.

If you’re to browse the internet, on YouTube and over platforms where you can get information, you’ll notice a whole lot of online income streams and how you can do it for absolutely free. 

Let me give you an advise, if the income stream comes with starting with nothing and starting with capital, opt to start with a capital. What are the difference? Let’s get to find out 

Free Income Streams

For better understanding, let’s use dropshipping as a case study. Go to YouTube, search for how to start dropshipping for free and you’ll find tons of videos trying to show you how you can do exactly that.

At the end of the day, those who are showing you how to do things for free did not start on a free plan. It’s a marketing strategy that makes them even more money when you interact with their content. 

Choosing free over paid things will keep you stuck if you want to be successful as an online business owner. You see little to no results which will eventually lead to quitting and giving up on your business in no time. 

Paid Income Streams

Paid income streams are income streams that kick starts with upfront expenses or capital. One best example is starting a blog or a website. 

First of all, if you want to start an online business, you need to appear as professional as you can be. Just treat as an offline job with a physical office. How will you start such business?

Yes, that’s exactly how it works online as well. Get a professional domain, do not settle for domain names that are free. It can be taken away from you at any point. Potential clients also see free domains as not trustworthy and because of that, you might end up losing lots of clients ones they check out your business and it isn’t professional as it should be.

Why You Need A Regular Job To Be Financially Independent 

Now that you know that you have to be a serious business person if you want to see significant financial success online, you’ll have to have some upfront capital, it’s now time to know why your 9 to 5 is important 

If you’re at home without a job and you believe you can find success online, go and get yourself a job first. Why? You’ll need to save up to facilitate that business idea. 

The golden advice I normally give to my students is that, no matter how bad your regular job is, do not be too quick to quit just to focus on your online business just because you have seen some progress 

Most businesses in general tuned to collapse after the first 6 month to 2 years. So imagine letting go of your regular job and losing your online business as well. Takes you back to your roots.

The best practice is to hold on to your regular job, keep your online business as a side hustle and monitor it for at least a year and half. When your side hustle bring in at least two times your income at your regular job consistently, then you can decide whether you’ll like to quit your 9 to 5 

So yes, this is a quick advices that I think will be useful to online business owners, and those who are yet to start but are looking forward to start a business online.
