Monetizing Digital Products: 5 Strategies for $10,000/Month with AI

I’ve got a list of five fantastic digital products that can generate revenue exceeding ten thousand dollars a month with AI tools. Some of these can yield an impressive 91% profit margin. The best part about these products is that they are nearly automated, so you can create them once and then sell them repeatedly.

Clip art

The first digital product is clip art. I just discovered this Etsy shop, and they’ve already made nearly 750,000 sales in total. And what are they selling? Clipart and other graphics. They offer clip art with everything from food, cosmetics, insects, and holidays. The list just goes on and on; it’s fantastic!

This one shop alone has earned over 3.3 million dollars in revenue, which is over thirty thousand dollars every single month, just from selling clipart! I am contemplating opening my own store like this, to be honest. And here is the craziest part: you can utilize AI tools to assist you in creating a similar shop.

There is this excellent AI tool called Mid-Journey; it’s a text-to-image generator that can turn simple descriptions into full-blown images. It’s super cool! With Mid-Journey, we can begin producing an abundance of clip art designs to sell. But before we dive into Mid-Journey, we need some clip art ideas, right?

Well, guess what? We can employ AI for that purpose as well! All you have to do is ask Chat GPT for clip art ideas, and it will provide suggestions. So armed with these ideas, we can then go to Mid-Journey’s Discord and request additional template variations to generate unique clipart designs. I can click forward slash image and add a prompt to generate for me cute wildlife animals clip art, and in a few moments, I will get a set of images just like I want.

You can select one of the images and view it in the browser. I will click on the image provided, and Mid-Journey will upscale this image, and then if I click on open in the browser, I will see the best size that I can get for the image and save it to my computer.

Once we have our fantastic clipart designs, we just need to make sure the backgrounds are transparent, you know, so people can actually use the clipart anywhere they want. And I have a simple solution for that too! We can head over to the free online tool called Adobe Background Remover.

Here’s a link to it Adobe background remover, or you can just Google it. So just drag and drop or upload your image there, and in a few seconds, any background will be gone. Now we can either download this file as it is, or if you want to resize it or edit it further, you can also continue doing this in the same tool.

I would rate this idea as highly beneficial because about 90% of the work is done by free AI tools, including ChatGPT. And even Adobe Background Remover is free; you just need to pay for Mid-Journey’s subscription, which starts at ten dollars a month, so it is very affordable.

And this was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to selling clipart. If you want more details on how to do it, let me know in the comments. I could make a dedicated tutorial on this topic.

Coloring pages

Now, the next digital product idea is coloring pages. Did you know that you can create coloring pages for kids or even for adults and sell them on Etsy? A shop called “A Relaxing Color” sells animal coloring pages and Mandela coloring pages. And get this, they’ve already made over a hundred and seven thousand dollars in revenue, so they’re generating over four thousand six hundred dollars every single month! Isn’t it amazing?

Now let me share with you how we can use AI to create similar products in just a few seconds. The first tool we’re going to use is ChatGPT, and it will help us generate lots of ideas in no time. So all you’ll do is ask Chat GPT for ideas on children’s coloring pages, and it will provide suggestions. These were some of the cool ideas that it came up with when I tried.

I just wanted to warn you about one thing: if Chat GPT suggests for you some copyrighted characters like Mickey Mouse, it’s best to avoid those. But all the suggestions that I’ve got, like farm animals and animals in the jungle, sound great.

For example, I started with a prompt, “cartoon over giraffe children’s coloring book page, clean line art, white background,” and within seconds, Mid-Journey created a stunning image for me. I noticed that AI will always try to add one or two images that are not just black and white, but you can pick one of the images that would work as a coloring page and move on with it.

But if you don’t like the first results it generated, just click on the regenerate button, and it will make new images with the same exact prompt. And I can even recommend you to clarify your prompt by adding more words like “no color” to get more consistent results and some additional parameters like AR three to four or two to three, as these are the best aspect ratios for printing on normal pages.

I would rate this idea 5 stars for the ease of creating these products. AI will provide suggestions for coloring pages, and it will generate the images, and even the quality of the images generated by AI is not extremely important because these are just coloring books for kids. I mean, have you seen a toddler with one of these books?

My daughter just opens all the pages very fast, checking out the pictures, adding her little doodles to them with random colors, and then she just moves on to the next game. Even if AI makes some minor mistakes when generating these images, no one will really complain about it.

Printable planners

Now, another product that’s doing really great on Etsy is printable planners and checklists. And if you’re thinking of selling stuff on Etsy, here’s a tip for you: being super specific about the type of planner or checklist that you offer can really boost your sales. I found this shop that has made over 88,000 sales.

They offer various types of planners and checklists, and you won’t believe it, but they’re making a million with checklists! This shop has already made over 1.4 million in revenue, bringing in more than twenty-one thousand dollars every month. Impressive, right?

So I decided to ask Chat GPT to provide suggestions on checklists that I could create, and I actually like the list that it suggested. It provided me with some ideas that hadn’t even crossed my mind before, like a job interview preparation checklist, home maintenance checklist, and even a home moving checklist.

I double-checked with Etsy’s keyword research tool, and I found that “cleaning checklist” and “cleaning planner” have lower competition but still make a lot of sales. So for my research, I decided to focus on creating a home cleaning checklist.

After that, I went back to Chat GPT and asked it for more details on what to include in my cleaning checklist. It provided me with a ton of useful information that I can just copy and paste into the checklist that I’m creating. Of course, there is still some work involved on my end.

I now need to transfer all that information into a graphic design tool like Canva, for example, to make it look appealing. But hey, a significant portion of the work is already completed for me thanks to Chat GPT’s brilliant suggestions.

I would rate this idea as very promising because even though AI is doing a chunk of the work, probably around 70 percent, there is still quite a lot of manual work for me to do. I still need to erase the random text from Mid-Journey and move it to Canva to turn it into a template.

And I still need to learn a bit about my niche and different types of events to understand what kind of stationery people usually buy. Now, you should know that any kind of products related to weddings, celebrations, and holidays are highly sought after on Pinterest.

It hits the demographic of this platform, which is mainly women, and the type of activity that users on Pinterest prefer is planning their events and saving ideas to their boards for later. Moreover, if you search for wedding invitations on Pinterest, it will first show you a ton of results from Etsy stores.

Even if you scroll down, you will still be getting mostly pins from Etsy and other e-commerce stores. So this platform really is pushing the shopping experience for users and sending a ton of traffic to Etsy stores. There is no better free traffic source for your products than Pinterest if you sell these types of products on Etsy or even if you have a standalone e-commerce store.

Resume Templates

Now check this out, our next product is resume templates. The beauty of this is once someone buys it from you, they just edit it themselves—super passive for you as a seller. I found this shop called Co-Resume selling only basic resume templates, and they’ve sold really close to 40,000 items so far.

Guess what? They are pulling in an estimate of $9,500 a month from this no-sweat gig. I mean, I’m recording this in July, and this store was last updated a couple of months ago. In the meantime, they made about twenty thousand dollars in these two months without adding a single new product. So here’s how I would do it:

I went over to my trusty Chat GPT and asked it what sections should I include in my resume template, and then it gave me all I needed for the template. Having all those ideas in mind, I hopped over to Mid-Journey to get some template inspiration.

After experimenting with a few different prompts, I decided to stick with a minimalistic resume template, and the templates it generated look great and professional. So then I upscaled one of these ideas in Mid-Journey, cropped it, and took it to Canva.

Now, this part needs your manual work because you have to add in the text boxes and some elements to recreate the template. You might ask me, “Well then, how did Mid-Journey help me in this?” The main reason to use it is to get inspiration from some of these automatically AI-generated templates so that you know for sure that you’re not recreating in Canva templates made by other people.

You get an infinite source of AI creativity; just click to generate more templates in Mid-Journey for you, and when you like some of them, then recreate them in Canva. Once you are done recreating the template, delete the background that you generated with AI and then click “share as a template” in Canva.

Now you can take this template link and sell it on Etsy. I already shared in my other tutorials the best side hustles that you can start using AI; you can check it out now in this tutorial. But not just yet, it always makes my day if you engage with, share, and subscribe to my newsletter updates, and I’ll see you in the next tutorial.
